Submission Package Proofreading Service

If you are a new author and are about to seek the representation of a literary agent, then this package is ideal for you. We will:

  • We will thoroughly proofread your letter of introduction and correct any errors. Additionally, we will thoroughly appraise the letter. We will evaluate whether it contains all the information that a literary agent is looking for. Just as importantly, we will check that your letter doesn’t provide details that could be detrimental to your submission eg “All my friends and family have said it’s a really great book”. We will make any recommendations for improvement in the Submission Package Report. Finally, we will reformat your introductory letter if necessary.
  • We will proofread your synopsis / book proposal / outline and correct all errors found. We will check that the document is formatted into the preferred style of the majority of literary agents. Additionally, we will evaluate the document and make any comments and recommendations as approrpriate.
  • We will thoroughly proofread and correct all errors found in the submission chapters provided (usually three). We will check the manuscript for inconsistencies and highlight any issues to you in our Report. We will also reformat your manuscript, if necessary, into a style preferred by the majority of literary agents.

Manuscript Proofreading Service (partial or full – we don’t mind)

We will thoroughly proofread and correct all errors found in your manuscript. We will check the manuscript for inconsistencies and highlight any issues to you in our Full Manuscript Proofreading Report. We will also reformat your manuscript, if necessary, into a style preferred by the majority of literary agents.

Timescales

14 days from receipt of document(s) and cleared funds.

Proofreading Fees

  • Fiction – £4.00 per 1,000 words
  • Non-fiction – £5.00 per 1,000 words
  • Minimum fee of £50.00 applies to small projects.
